Waxing Moon

I took this shot at 8:33 pm on 3/11/2016.  It was above the place where the sunset took place 2 hours ago. I tried different shutter speed to get the tone of the moon surface closer to what I saw with my naked eyes.

Full Moon

February 22nd is the full moon. The full moon in February also has a special name, Full Snow Moon, since February usually gets more snow than other months. Since the sky had lots of clouds, the surface of the moon was not that crispy clear (in comparison with my another post several days ago).

A shining moon in the purple and blue sky

While waiting for a magic moment before the sunset, I looked back inadvertently and saw this stunning moment I had never seen before. The lower portion of the sky was still blue; the upper portion was light purple; and there was a bright, shining moon.

A Shining Moon in the Blue Sky

Right before the sunset, I suddenly saw the moon hanging high in the blue sky. It was so beautiful, so pure, like a gem. The capture is not that sharp since I did not use a tripod. I will definitely use the tripod next time when I see it.

Moon Shot

Yesterday night after 10:30 pm, when I was outside, I noticed a beautiful moon shining in the clear sky. I was curious if I could take a shot of this waxing gibbous moon. I tried, failed, tried, failed again, but I felt I was getting better. After trying 50+ times, I finally got it -- I was so excited when seeing it from my computer.  Here it is.

Moon shining on the beach

During the winter break in December, we spent a couple of hours on Ft. Lauderdale beach. After the sunset, I noticed the moon was shinning in the sky. When it's getting dark, the lights on the ships came to the picture. What a beautiful evening on the beach!
